2° Day
Golf players will play their first 18 holes at the Bogogno Golf course (36 holes), ranked among the 100 best courses in continental Europe. They’ll have the chance to play on both beautiful courses: Conte and Bonora, both designed by the renowned American Architect Robert von Hagge. Today they’ll play The Conte. Golf writers are torn on which is the “better” of the two…the best is playing both of them and to live your own experience. Technically, the Conte is more open, flatter and less water defended than the Bonora. Although inland, it has more in common with an open “Scottish” links layout, rather than a classic Italian parkland course. In the afternoon, time to relax for the group in the Bogogno Golf Resort or in its wellness centre (treatements with supplement). Dinner at the hotel. Overnight at Bogogno Resort. Optional visit: Maggiore Lake, one of the most beautiful places in Italy and one of the most “dreamed” ….the Lago Maggiore. Departure from Stresa with your English-speaking guide, in a private launch for Isola Bella, the most famous of the Borromean Islands. Visit the Borromeo Palace (17th-century), rich in history, art and culture, and its extraordinary landscaped grounds, a masterpiece of Italian gardens, laid out on ten stepped terraces descending to the water’s edge. Free time for shopping and exploring the island. Then on to Isola dei Pescatori, the centuries’ old working fisherman’s island, with its picturesque lanes and alleyways, typical dwellings and the small church dedicated to San Vittore. Return to Stresa to visit the historical centre and enjoy free time for explore the city on your own. Optional lunch in a restaurant with lake views.
3° Day
Today golfers will enjoy 18 holes at the Castelconturbia Golf (8 km, 15 minutes from Bogogno Golf Resort). This is one of the oldest golf courses in Italy, built in 1898; it was the only golf course in Piedmont, when there were only two in Italy and was frequented by the Savoy family. The 27-hole course, designed and built by Robert Trent Jones, is technically and scenically simply beautiful, inside an old forest with a spectacular Monte Rosa view, as a background. By most players, it is considered one of the best golf courses in Italy. Return to Bogogno Hotel. Dinner and overnight. Optional visit: Orta Lake (with English speaking guide). Orta is part of the most beautiful villages in Italy. The car traffic is not allowed, but the small dimensions allow for a walk to the ancient center. By boat, you reach the S. Giulio Island. The bell tower stands on the Romanesque basilica of San Giulio (XI century). The interior is frescoed with figures of saints XV-XVII cent. On the hill overlooking Orta lies the stage scenery of the Sacromonte XVI-XVII century, which in 20 chapels and 376 terracotta statues tells the life of St. Francis, with a sense of religion. Since 2003 it has been a UNESCO heritage site.
4° Day
Today golfers will play the Bonora at Bogogno Golf Club. The Bonora is longer than the Conte and technically more challenging than its neighboring course. Water hazards are prevalent, and the going is rather hilly. Dinner and overnight.
Optional visit: Novara. The areas between Vercelli and Novara is a very productive land: 50% of Italian production of the rice is cultivated here. A land characterised by farms, rice paddies, flooded fields, lined with rows of poplars, farmsteads and castles that have become the heart of small villages. Optional Visit: Outlet Vicolungo – the best and well known top brands of the Italian Fashion.
5° Day
After Breakfast, hotel check out. Departure from Bogogno Golf Resort to Turin (100 km, about 1 hour drive), Italy's first capital, offers incomparable vistas of streets and long colonnaded boulevards (18 kilometers of “Portici”: arched streets), balanced between the measured sumptuousness of Piedmont Baroque and the traditional Roman town planning. In Turin you can admire: the “Palazzo Reale” and the “Palazzo Madama”, which, fronted by the glorious façade by Filippo Juvarra, the Egyptian Museum, second in the world in importance and quantity of exhibits after the Egyptian Museum in Cairo, the “Mole Antonelliana” with its Cinema Museum, the Car Museum which tells the story and the evolution of the motor car.
Dinner not included (optional dinner at a restaurant in Turin on demand).
Overnight at Hotel 5* Allegro Golden Palace or similar.
6° Day
After breakfast, departure for the Royal Park I Roveri Course to play 18 holes.
The charm of The Royal Park I Roveri (20 km from Turin) is that it is an exclusive place, with all the comfort of modernity together with its striking location, makes it unique in Europe: surrounded by the Olympic Alps and immersed in the La Mandria Park, it rises a stone’s throw from the Palace of Venaria, the largest of the Savoy residences. Attention to detail, personalized services for members and guests, the wide range of structures for relaxation and wellness make Royal Park I Roveri a place of extraordinary excellence, not just for practicing the noble sport of golf. Designed by Robert Trent Jones, 18 holes, par 72.
In the afternoon transfer to the Langhe Area, through its main city, Alba (famous for the Truffle Fair). Alba is a city of Roman origin which was called " Alba Pompeia", it consists of an old town and a newer part with wide tree-lined boulevards. The old town is characterized by the presence of numerous towers and fortified houses… You’ll meet another part of Piedmont, so different from the noisy cities, a rural area, lands cultivated as vineyards, small and typical “Borghi”.
Dinner and overnight at the Albergo dell’Agenzia 4* or similar.
7° Day
After breakfast, you’ll reach Cherasco Golf Course. While playing the 18-hole course one can easily be drawn by the memorable surrounding scenery, by the gentle hills of the Langhe, which are famous for grand wines and for truffles, or by the distant Alps with the majestic Monviso. The 18-hole course, designed by Marco Croze, follows the two different altimetric levels of the terrain which is both gently undulated and relatively flat.
The holes are made more challenging and spectacular by various water hazards: ponds and streams. More than 4000 trees, including pine, maple, hornbeam and oak have been added to the original woodland and make a rich and demanding round with some long par 3 and par 4 holes. This appealing but not impossible golf course in suitable for any type of golfer.
Overnight at the Albergo dell’Agenzia 4* or similar.
